Newington Armory and Nature Reserve Controlled Burn

A controlled burn is planned to take place in March or April in Newington Armory and Nature Reserve.

This strategy sets out to provide long-term benefits and a safer environment for the community, by removing the risk associated with wildfire events. 

Possible dates for the work are:

6-8 March (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
13-15 March (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
20-22 March  (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
4-6 April (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)
10-12 April (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

The controlled burn will involve burning operations for 2 days followed by 2-3 days of mopping up.

Louise Sauvage Pathway between Holker St, Hill Road and Woo-la-ra will be closed for the duration of the burn
