The hip-pocket just got a little heavier as families are set to benefit from the Active Kids initiative at Sydney Olympic Park.
The Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre Swim School and the Gymnastics Club at Quaycentre are both registered as approved providers of the NSW Government's Active Kids program.
Parents, guardians and carers can apply for a $100 voucher per calendar year for each student enrolled in school.
Sports Minister Stuart Ayres said parents can now register online with Service NSW to receive their $100 voucher to provide to their approved sport or physical activity club or organisation.
“Active kids are happy and healthy kids and this is going to make a difference to many families. This program means that every child in the State has the opportunity to be fit and active in their community,” Mr Ayres said.
The Active Kids initiative is for children aged between 4.5 to 18 years and enrolled in school, from Kindergarten to Year 12, including those who are home-schooled or enrolled in secondary school education at TAFE NSW.
Chief Executive Officer of Sydney Olympic Park Authority Charles Moore said the organisation was committed to providing opportunities to people of all ages to lead active and healthy lives.
“It’s fantastic that both the Sydney Olympic Park Swim School and Gymnastics Club is now part of this great NSW government initiative, helping to ease the cost of sports programs with families.”
