The Bicentennial Park pedestrian bridge that runs over Powells Creek near the Education Centre will temporarily close from Monday 3 May to allow for refurbishment works.
Works will include replacing the entire timber decked floor and upgrading of hand rails. The work is expected to be complete mid year.
While the works take place, park visitors will be able to make use of a nearby bridge, approximately 600m along, to cross Powells Creek.
These works form part of an extensive program of $18M in improvement works taking place across sports venues and parkland areas at Sydney Olympic Park.
The works will breathe a new set of life into venues and assets bringing them back to first class and ensuring locals and visitors continue to play and enjoy the wonderful facilities and parklands at Sydney Olympic Park well into the future.
