2050 Vision for Sydney Olympic Park

01 Nov 2021

The future of Sydney Olympic Park is up for discussion with the public invited to have their say on a vision for the precinct in 2050.

A giant playground, a sports mecca, a park, a movie production house, an entertainment precinct, a business centre and a great place to live are some of the suggestions raised so far.

Chief Executive of NSW Placemaking Anita Mitchell said hundreds of people have been asked to imagine what Sydney Olympic Park might look like in 30 years’ time.

“At 10 times the size of Disneyland, there’s much to imagine at Sydney Olympic Park. The feedback to date has been incredible and interesting, as we develop a visionary plan,” Ms Mitchell said.

“And it’s no wonder, with residents, businesses, sporting groups, picnickers and concert goers all currently enjoying Sydney Olympic Park.

“To date, we’ve spoken to 200 people in one-on-one interviews, round tables and focus groups.”

Ms Mitchell said interactive maps can also be viewed and for those super passionate about the Park, they can even write a love letter to the future Sydney Olympic Park.

“The place vision and strategy will provide a roadmap to guide the development of the Master Plan 2050 and future developments,” she said.

“It will also inspire and drive other important outcomes for Sydney Olympic Park today, tomorrow and beyond 2050.

“We encourage the community to be a part of developing a vision for Sydney Olympic Park, one that unlocks the true identity of this special place.”
