Grandparents celebrated at Sydney Olympic Park

Grandparents and grandchildren on heritage train tour

30 Oct 2017

To celebrate National Grandparents on Sunday 29 October, Sydney Olympic Park Authority provided a package of experiences for both the young and young at heart to share in.

Grandparents and their grandchildren enjoyed a two for one special on a Heritage Railway train ride around Newington Armory.

The train ride took visitors on a fun historical journey through part of the former Royal Australian Navy Armament Depot – once used to transport missiles, torpedoes and other World War 2 munitions.

While in Newington Armory other free activities included a guided walking tour from the BirdLife Centre and the opportunity to peruse the Operation Arts exhibition with over 800 creative works by school aged students from Kindergarten to Year 10.

Sydney Olympic Park is a super lifestyle precinct offering experiences to all ages and interests to create unique and lasting memories together.
