The wet weather did not deter the community or organisers of the Australia Day event at Sydney Olympic Park as 5,000 people shared in the celebrations of the history of our great southern land.
Taking place at the beautiful Bicentennial Park, the free family event featured sheep shearing, whip cracking, sheep dog trials, an animal farm, amusement rides, Indigenous dance, a bush band, an eclectic line up of cultural dance and music from across the world, and a fireworks display.
The voice of Blinky Bill and Australia Day Ambassador Robyn Moore addressed the community at an official ceremony, speaking on what is great about Australia and being Australian.
Sydney Olympic Park’s Australia Day celebrations with multicultural food options and entertainment reflected the diverse nature of modern, urban Australia.
Sydney Olympic Park Authority and Auburn City Council work closely together to host this exciting Australia Day family event each year for local residents from Auburn City and visitors from across Sydney.
