Wilson Park

Sydney Olympic Park Authority (the Authority) holds an Environmental Protection Licence (10243) issued under the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997, for the discharge of treated wastewater from the Wilson Park Bioremediation System.

This system captures and treats hydro-carbon contaminated wastewater to a standard that is safe to discharge.

The Wilson Park area is also subject to a Notice issued under the Contaminated Lands Management Act 1997.

As part of the Environment Protection Licence (10243), the Authority undertakes a Pollution Reduction Program (PRP) including routine monthly monitoring of treated wastewaters prior to discharge.

Sydney Olympic Park Authority takes a diligent approach to providing this data publicly and in line with regulatory requirements.

The Authority will report all incidents to the relevant regulatory authority listed below:

  • Environment Protection Authority 131 555 (& Auburn Council 02 9735 1222 if the incident is not caused by SOPA activities)
  • Ministry of Health, Parramatta Office of the Public Health Unit 02 9840 3603 (after hours to Westmead Hospital 02 9845 5555 and ask for the Public Health Officer on call)
  • Workcover 131 050
