Business events (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) play an important role in driving the Park’s economy. The Park offers:
- The choice of 10 world class venues offering over 100 different function spaces.
- Capacity to accommodate meetings, conferences, conventions, special events, gala dinners, cocktail parties, product launches, incentives, weddings, trade and consumer exhibitions.
- Capability of catering for intimate groups of fewer than 10 to large groups of up to 21,000.
Business events are increasingly recognised as instrumental in driving visitation to the Park and generating revenue for its venues. In 2010, there were a total of 2,295 business events held in the Park (representing 46% of all events held), attracting 872,016 delegates and generating in excess of $23 million in revenue for the Park’s venues.
The Authority in conjunction with the Park venue’s work collectively to promote and sell Sydney Olympic Park as a business event destination under the Sydney Olympic Park brand.
