Sydney Olympic Park Authority is improving the street network in Sydney Olympic Park to make way for future developments in the Parkview precinct, as set out in Master Plan 2030.
Stage one of the Murray Rose Avenue extension east of Australia Avenue is underway and due for completion in early 2012.
This street project provides for:
- Access to commercial offices opening in early 2012 plus other future commercial and residential developments
- Access to a future local park at the south end of the Brickpit
- Shaded seating areas
- Continuous pedestrian footpath, complying to access standards and traffic safety standards
- Street lighting
- Protection of existing trees
- Underground services to future developments along the street including power, communications, gas, potable and recycled water
Stage one of the project will extend to the General Property Trust commercial office development at 5 Murray Rose Avenue (site 60). This part of the project follows the exact alignment of an original street known as Barnes Road, one of the remaining streets from the former NSW State Abattoir, which occupied this site from 1861 to 1988.
